I’m personally interested in contemporary Irish politics, and I’m wondering if you could elaborate a little on the reasons for Ireland’s commitment to the EU despite the recent economic hardships it has faced? Is due to something like pride in international prominence or is it more pragmatic? Would the EU truly be an effective economic safety net for Ireland?
