Class Participation (10%)
You are required to complete all preliminary work and participate in all activities on the schedule in Ireland. Attendance is expected on all scheduled tours, lectures, and other activities (including the lectures and seminars at the Yeats Summer School). We also expect you to read materials on time, participate in class discussions, and generally be engaged in the trip. You are required to attend:
- All course walking tours, site visits, and other activities on the course schedule.
- Week One of Yeats Summer School: Attend at least five morning lectures and ALL afternoon seminar meetings.
- Week Two of Yeats Summer School: Attend at least four morning lectures and ALL afternoon seminar meetings.
- Poetry readings by McGuckian (7/30), Boland (7/31), and O’Donoghue (8/4). There will be many other readings and performances over the two weeks when we are in Sligo. We encourage you to attend as many of these as possible.
- Performance of Yeats’s play Calvary (8/7).
