Of all the things that the Irish treasure, music is right up there alongside independence and a nice pint. In Ireland music has been passed down for centuries, with each new generation having their own take on classic songs. While examining these songs it can be interesting to go back an examine at which point in history these songs came from. Particularly interesting periods to look at are times right after or right before significant revolutionary attempts, like 1916 or 1798. The effect that they have on the music, and in turn the music on the people, is incredibly fascinating and exciting to look at. And also any Irish group that you listen to is extraordinarily talented and generally fun to listen to.
